Jewelry Intensive: Casting
with Jaime Fields
In this 5 day casting intensive, students will learn the organic metal art of lost wax casting and make silver, or bronze cast rings or pendants. This course will cover the process by which a metal object is cast from a wax model, allowing you to see the limitless forms that metal can take. The class starts by showing you how to work with wax (hot and cold) to create pieces of jewelry that will be cast. The class fee covers the cost of basic materials. Students who wish to cast sterling silver are responsible for purchasing and safe storage. The instructor will email students before class with a link to purchase sterling silver. Each student will be given one 2 1/2 inch flask to fit their wax designs in. Instructor will be doing the castings for the students. Beginners are welcome. Please note that the Jewelry Studio is located upstairs in the Sharon Art Studio.
