Stacy McClanahan aka FOG DEN is a San Francisco based artist that specializes in oil painting on black velvet fabric. She holds an Associates Degree in Fine Art and Bachelors from studying Videogame Art and Animation in Vancouver, Canada on a Scholarship. After cloudy Vancouver, Stacy returned to her native sunny California, only to take a job at a videogame company in San Francisco, a town famous for it’s fog. After about a decade in the videogame industry, Stacy left behind The Storm Troopers and Pokemon to build a family and art practice. Her interest in working with the velvet medium began when she couldn’t find the right velvet paintings to decorate her tiki themed art studio, so she decided to make her own. You can now find Fog Den velvet paintings in tiki bars and themed spaces around the bay area and beyond.
